The following is a selection of scholarship work supported by INTACH UK Trust:

  • Running a workshop for artisans using bamboo
  • Researching the indigo industry in North West India for a publication
  • Researching low-cost housing in the Zanskar valley
  • Participation in excavations at Gilund, Rajasthan
  • Training in the skills of brass-casting in Kerala
  • Researching Sikh iconography
  • Running a workshop on the consolidation of large paintings and scrolls
  • Research into the Anglo-Indian community of Cheltenham
  • Support for a cultural exchange project between musicians in Rajasthan and Cardiff
  • Survey of pre-historic rock art in central India
  • Documentation of the sacred city of Kumbakonam, south India
Conservation work in India
The following are examples of conservation projects that have been supported by INTACH UK Trust:
  • Restoration of extensive complex of buildings at Orcha, Madhya Pradesh
  • Restoration of the Nagaur Fort, Rajasthan
  • Revitalising traditional water resource systems at Jodhpur, Rajasthan
  • Indo-British training programmes with the British Council on material conservation, Museum Management and Heritage Management
  • Support for Charles Wallace Institute for Conservation Research Training, Lucknow
  • Conservation of stained glass at Victoria Terminus, Bombay, St James Church, Delhi and Christ Church Mussoori
